City Towing holds CHP rotation contracts and works alongside CHP, the San Bernardino County Sheriff, Barstow PD, and Caltrans on the corridor every week. That experience is why our accident calls go smoothly: we know how the officer wants the scene cleared, what the adjuster needs on the invoice, and how to load a vehicle with a bent frame so it doesn't get worse on the way to the shop.
Before we get there
- Get everyone off the roadway — behind the guardrail, up the embankment, well away from traffic. Leave the car if it's in a lane.
- Call 911 if anyone is hurt or if lanes are blocked.
- Photograph everything — vehicle positions, damage, plates, the road — before anything moves.
- Exchange information and get the officer's name and the report number.
- Then call 760-256-5007. Tell dispatch where you are, the make and model, what it's leaking (fuel, coolant, oil), and whether it's on its wheels.
You choose the tow company — and the shop
Unless your vehicle is blocking a lane and law enforcement orders an immediate rotation tow, you have the right to call the tow company you want. Tell the officer you have one coming: City Towing, 760-256-5007. And once it's on our deck, you decide where it goes. We don't steer vehicles to a body shop that pays us a referral — a lot of "free tow" offers after a crash work exactly that way, and the bill shows up later on your repair.
Working with your insurance
Most policies cover accident towing. We invoice with everything an adjuster looks for — pickup location, mileage, destination, vehicle condition, photos — so reimbursement goes through without a back-and-forth. If your insurer has a preferred body shop or storage yard, we deliver there directly.
What we don't do
We're light- and medium-duty. Commercial semis and loaded big rigs are heavy-duty work; if that's what's involved, we'll say so on the phone and get the right outfit moving rather than waste your time.
